sbg is more important and leprosy is one of the greatest examples of how pure, rotten death metal should sound. i love this record but it's more like a shallower prototype of what was to come

I still only have 3 Death albums but they're all great. I always found this album almost as great as Human, and Leprosy is easy to listen to, not really dark and very fun (especially the first 4 songs on Leprosy are good examples of that, the next 4 have a bleaker feeling and atmosphere).
I always like that you can hear what Chuck is singing, many other death metal bands have vocals that are far harder to understand and decipher. I really love Entombed but I had a hard time to let the vocals grow on me.

This is a transitional album, it lacks the intensity of the older material and the refined prog-isms of latter day Death. Human nailed the balance just right and feels like a more natural progression than this does. Then of course ITP expanded upon that significantly and Death became a different beast altogether.
Worst Death, still very good.
