Damn, did not even notice the username. The pandemic is bringing everyone back eh?

Has the band ever talked about how the hilariously bad transition from Pull Me Under to Another Day came to be?

pull me under was the last song they recorded and they ran out of money while recording it

Lol yeah that's probably the real reason. Band claims its some shit about it being symbolic of how sudden and unexpected death is, but clearly that's some bull.

Look at the quality of music recorded on a tight budget

Actually john petrucci said in a reddit ama that the band weren’t around when the guy responsible for editing was doing his business and he fucked up

Even with a drawn out ending the transition to something as cheesy as Another Day would have been weird lul
Love both songs though

Honestly I don't know why I hadn't 5'd this in the longest time. Should have been one of my first 5s just for the amount of times I've listened to it in the past, and its huge influence on me

Nice. I don't know whether this or Awake is better, but this was my first DT album so it's the one that has all the nostalgia for me. Definitely one of my all time favourites

Yeah ditto for me. I think Awake edges it slightly for me now because it's darker. Images edged it for me back in the day. But I'm splitting hairs, it changes with the mood

I love Kevin Moore-era DT so much, man. The band really lost something awesome when he left, they could never quite reach the same level of majesty without him.

His contributions fit perfectly for Fates, all those albums are great.
Yeah man the character is gone from DT. Kevin was the moodiest one so he brought that influence clearly haha. Derek was also great on FII. Love the organic instrumentation

Wait, he was actually on Fates Warning stuff? I thought you guys were talking about OSI. Haven't heard Fates Warning with Kevin Moore, sounds interesting.
FII was always my least favourite DT album, but I've been hearing loads of stuff about it that's making me want to give it another go. I've heard some of it, but I'm not that familiar with the whole Sherinian era of DT.

FII is better than whatever came after, in my opinion.
