Haven't been able to really ever get into Thrice, but it's been a while since I've tried. Never listened to BtMI, but maybe I should check both out.

they're nothing like this at all.
The Illusion of Safety is post-hardcore with relentless riffs, and two-part harmony all over. All of Thrice's albums are pretty vastly different from each other so if you listened to one and didn't like it there's a good chance you'll like a different Thrice album.
Vacation can be summed up by the phrase "hella rad." It's essentially really warm, sunny pop-punk played by an ex-ska band. All of bomb's earlier albums are much more frenetic (and yes, their earlier stuff is very ska) and while I enjoy them for what they are, Rosenstock (the driving force behind bomb) is completely on point during Vacation. His lyrics and songwriting are better than ever before, and just like the rest of bomb's discog, it's free to dl at quoteunquoterecords.com
