whips absolute ass. really good amalgamation of everything they've done. bit of peace sells speed, bit of sfsgsw aggression and bite, bit of rust in peace era flashy solos, some solid hooks from their latter stuff. absolute riff bonanza.

impressed with the sheer speed on some of these, this day we fight and head crusher whew. dave sounds better than on united abominations as well. 44 minutes is so catchy. also the hardest part of letting go... is one of their most interesting songs ever, like a promises sequel mixed with thrash. love dave on that. production on this is beefy as hell too! riffs stand out so much. dig this a ton. favorite megadave since youthansia.

Yeah this is pretty firmly my fourth favorite Megadeth and for sure (like, not even close) the best record any of these old school thrash bands made in the last 25 years or so

It’s really insane how good this is. Hopefully Dave can end things on a relatively high note with the new one but that single didn’t really inspire a ton of hope.

maybe like 6 or 7 overall to me right now. but just goes to the quality of the discog. couple duds here, namely the awful t/t. but otherwise exactly what a late era thrash album should be. now we get to the interesting part of the discog lol. no idea what to expect with super collider!

“ no idea what to expect with super collider!”

… the answer is not much.

This album being so good is even less wild than putting out something so killer then immediately dropping the worst album of their career.

Straight up man, this is the best modern record from a classic era thrash band and Super Collider is literally the worst. It’s truly fucking terrible. I’d take any, and I mean ANY, Metallica album over that steaming pile of shit. It came out right as I was really getting into old school metal, and after hearing Endgame I was like, “oh hell yeah more new Megadeth!”. Still have the CD somewhere for some unholy reason

ugh dude, I have zero desire to listen to the full thing ever again. I have a morbid curiosity but even that isn’t enough to make me endure that record again, so I’ll just say that the title track is their worst song ever and call it a day. Maybe there’s worse songs on the album but I am not subjecting myself to that ever again. Even the little 16 year old Wildcard knew this was fucking terrible.

Godspeed Futures. I’ll see you on the other side.

Oh and I guess I completely forgot about Thirteen. For good reason probably, because I don’t remember a single fucking song off that.

13 is underrated imo, “sudden death” is one of their best modern songs and there are a few other fun ones like “public enemy no.1” and “black swan”. “Deadly nightshade” is also surprisingly groovy. It’s mostly just fine
