Man I am so glad I saved this for last because stuff like “The Kill” and “Strangelight” wouldn’t have hit nearly as hard. Hearing their first couple albums you’d never think they’d write songs like those.



Needless to say I very much dig this and feel it is going to grow on me a lot.

part of me wants to 5 a Fugazi album (it'd be Red Med) but I've always felt they had imperfections...

Same here, they're undoubtedly an exceptional band but I'm not sure any of their albums quite has the traits of a personal 5/5 for me - this one probably comes the closest though, time will tell.

This is a band where I can truly understand just about any album being someone's favorite - only one I'd kind of bat an eye at is Steady Diet, still a very good album but perhaps the only one that doesn't do anything no other album really does.
