Pale Folklore is sweet, but it just has a few really stupid parts in it.

pale folklore is their rawest and i think that's why i like it so much. the production is pretty bad but the concepts are awesome and laid the foundation for ashes. the mantle is more subtle and marrow is solid but not what i really wanted out of them.
and the white ep rules esp sowilo rune

I really like the production on PF. There are just some really facepalm moments on that album (the piano banging, that one embarrassing female vocal part, etc.).

i like the piano banging :[

Yeah, the piano banging is still more excusable than that awkward transition to an awful vocal part from Haughm in She Painted Fire.
|
| |
there is also one solo where they just blatantly hit a wrong note, it makes me cringe every time
but for all its faults its still my favorite

I'm not sure I like any song off PF better than Limbs, Fire Above, Not Unlike the Waves, or
Bloodbirds.
|
| |
i like PF better as an album, but Fire Above is their best song by a pretty large margin

There were a lot more mistakes throughout PF than just hitting the wrong note in the Melancholy Spirit solo. Hell, the first riff on the album had a fuck up in it.
