this is probably the best brutal death album ever made
this band is so unique its absurd. perfectly blends technicality, groove, playful musicianship, and has a completely new 'sound' that has never been done before

Wondering if anyone else thinks Conglaciation just shot themselves right into the conversation with bands like Necrophagist and Defeated Sanity for being top tier brutal technical death metal on their new debut album

Is this progressive?
|
| |
Album Rating: 5.0
Actually it is a little bit.
Not like opeth levels of prog obviously but some of the songwriting and instrumentation is progressive in the sense that it's very experimental/unconventional

| |

And that becomes more and more apparent in their recent albums, correct?

Uhhh idk, I definitely think this is their most experimental. But the one before this (Disposal of the Dead/Dharmata) was like a split they did with themselves. A straight bdm half and a straight prog half. Both halves rule tho and it was like a really cool way to pay homage to bands on both sides of that spectrum that influenced them
