A bit let down by this. Definitely a lot of recycled riffs, but I think my main gripe is that a lot of songs feel like they're building up to something but they never explode the way you want them to (like Lateralus or Reflection do). Pneuma is a banger though.
I do like how Adam is doing some guitar solos though. Album is still good overall but I think they could've done a lot more with it.

This album is more of a grower, like 10k was too. 10k didn't floor me immediately.
I liked it a lot more after i heard it again a few months later.
My immediate impression is that Maynard's APC writing persona is rubbing off on Tool more than the other way around.
