New album appears to be done? Are we not doing to have to wait a half decade for another Slipknot album?

At this point in the band's career, I only look forward to what new masks and rompers they're wearing

This will be seen as an incredibly important album in a few years. It not only revitalized public interest in Slipknot, it's definitely one the best mainstream metal albums of last decade.

i don't really agree with the revitalizing public interest, i think slipknot have become one of those bands where every album will be released to crazy fanfare. it definitely is their best since 2004 though.

Big part of this is that they've only released an album every 5 or so years since dropping this. They've never worn out their welcome so it still feels like a big deal when they release something.

I never had any interest in them the first place so it didn't revitalize anything for me, haha. rather, it planted the initial seed of curiosity for a band I ignored for 20 years
