This album is such a masterpiece. Hate to say it, but I don’t think they’ll ever be able to top this one.

Simple Math is still a masterwork. Most other bands never release something as good as Simple Math, Manchester Orchestra just decided to spoil us with two masterpieces

Agreed hard. When I’m asked what my favorite albums are, I reeeeaaallllyyyy have to think hard about it. Simple Math and Black Mike are both so, so good...

mewithoutYou Untitled is a contender too though...

Science Fiction, Black Mile, and Untitled are all recent albums by 3 of my favorite bands that still have a shot at AOTD.

2017 > 2010 > the rest, I'll have to sort it out in my end of decade blog

2011 was the only year this decade where two of my personal 5's dropped (Wildlife and Suburbia I've Given You My All And Now I'm Nothing) so I guess that has to win, but summer 2017 was a wild ride

Man, I really hope I do, but can you imagine? This is almost too good. An even better MO album might make my brain explode lol.

Simple Math for me is a hard 4. But this an extremely 5 5.

What a lyrical atmospheric powerhouse this is. Especially when my brother singlehandedly ended our Relationship with the horrible things he said and did the other day, this album is hitting like a bullet.

Family disputes aren't usually permanent

A family dispute is an understatement. Permanent, maybe no, but an awful falling out that will have long lasting effects on my end, yes. So the lack of understanding, communication, self shame, feelings of shame towards another and complete helplessness of what to do with yourself in these lyrics were...therapeutic to put it lightly.

2017 really didn't do much for me compared to 2018 and 2019 so far tbh

Sorry to hear that Nick. Hope things recover in time. At least your troubles have led you to this amazing album
