First listen = utter confusion (& I've heard 4 DEP albums many times), couldn't remember much about it once it had finished
Second = ok, so 'Not Wanting'... is cool, oh yeah the opening bit of 'Low Feels' is nice.
I suppose this constitutes an improvement, hoping for more... early days. Was anyone else almost taken aback on first try?... maybe it's experimental even by these guys standards.

It doesn't have the immediacy of IW or OP though, maybe similar-ish to MM. CI is obviously a different beast but I'm so used to that now it doesn't sound so crazy these days.

Maybe it's not MORE experimental, there's just a complete dearth of catchy hooks which doesn't lend itself to immediacy, whereas some of the other records had a nice balance. We'll see...

This album fucking owns, btw. I didn't have super high expectations coming into it, thought maybe we'd get something very near One of Us (silly me) but I was way off. Killer way to go out with an album like this and to be able to shred it out so hard live. Are they still going to play festivals or anything or are they done altogether?
