Potsy, quick question, what do you see in Funcrusher Plus that you preferred over his modern stuff(I'm just curious)

potsy next time I see you we are going to smoke way too much and I'm forcing you to re-listen to C4C
so down dude. actually, i might listen to it again right after i finish this new Tipper album (amazing). I'm in the mood.
I do really like For My Upstairs Neighbor
@sharktooth
its minimal, its dark, the beats are simple yet unique (for their time), its kind of a mash of styles between everything that i love about the more G'd out side of jazz rap from the 90's and more modern electronic hip-hop before it it started catering to this wave of awful new yung turds haha

Oh man I find myself way less interested in old el-p music these days and the whole rawkus rappity rap lyrical spiritual miracle shit gets so old. El has creatively evolved since his old days.

rawkus rappity rap lyrical spiritual miracle shit gets so old.
whatever this means so does the southern rapper awful lyrics completely unrelatable bullshit of killer mike so meh

I can get that, but for me they're barely audible lol

@urine i didn't say it has to be relatable to be good i was just commenting on my own experience. also relatable isn't purely a lyrical content thing, relatable can be instrumental too. for instance i don't necessarily relate to big l or mobb deep talking about fucking niggas up but i do relate and vibe out to the music. with killer mike i don't vibe out to the lyrics, rap style, or instrumentals, hence unrelatable to me.
and yeah, el-p is very relatable for me. TOJ and Overly Dramatic Truth for example were once especially relatable for me at one point, so much so that a few years back I was jamming TOJ like 10 times a day.
I can get that, but for me they're barely audible lol
maybe you have a shitty rip? or maybe the aesthetic is just something you aren't used to/vibe out to

probably the first one, the rappers' voices are much louder than the beats, making the rhythm much harder to follow
|
| |
@urine doing so now
@shark yeah sounds like you got a shit rip
i mean that era that was also to a degree an aesthetic but not so much that it was distracting and you couldnt follow the instrumental
|
| |
oh wait thats a whole album, won't listen to the whole thing now cuz ive got a couple albums on queue but link me a good track from it urine
