I just listened to some strongarm and yea i can hear the influence. Because a hundred bands decided to mimic their style, I don't think that makes them generic. It's pretty much impossible to have completely original music in this day and age. Everyone is influenced by someone and everyone influences someone. But I firmly believe that Shai Hulud stand out from many other "generic" bands these days.
