Gore is bottom of the Deftones barrel

Even thought that's true, it's not even that low of a bottom. Hahaha

Gore and Adrenaline are their weakest. This ranks among their best tho, whatchyou talkin bout.

i fucking hate adrenaline but i mostly just kinda chalk that up to how nu metal it is. gore's just boring

I like Adrenaline but still their worst album. Fireal is one of their best songs tho, really illustrated what was to come. Gore is their second worst — solid with some great highlights, but definitely a bit bland compared to their stronger work.

t/t on gore is pretty good (not even really sure what about this one i like over the others i otherwise theres just not much going on which i guess is partially because the mix completely kills any dynamics but it really fucking hurts it

I always tend to forget Adrenaline myself but yeah, that's their weakest. With time I kinda learned to love Gore and s/t.

I can't say I really see why this has the reputation of being a step down from their other albums. Hell, gun to my head I'd honestly give it a slight edge over White Pony (though the best tracks on White Pony are better than the best tracks here)

Still waiting for a 'Tones album to impress me as much as Diamond Eyes does, hopefully when I finally get around to Koi No Yokan it'll scratch the itch their earlier stuff doesn't quite manage to.

Adrenaline is their most underrated record and is 100% not worse than Gore.

Someone should make a list of bands where the "worst record" debate comes down to their debut and their most recent/a late-career dud, I think that'd be interesting

I'd like to know how it would be an album produced by Ross Robinson

Oh my god I forgot this existed. Also, reading the track list, it feels like those names belong on Gore.

fortunately the songs do not sound like they belong on Gore

"I can't say I really see why this has the reputation of being a step down from their other albums."
i think it's because, of all their albums, this one feels the most like a lateral move. ATF was such a huge step up from Adrenaline & White Pony from ATF, but this was just kinda like "alright now Deftones are going to do Deftones and they're calling it: Deftones"
that being said, I really love a lot of the tracks here

You don't need to put a gun to my head for me to pick this over White Pony. You need to put a gun to my head to get me to remember it even exists though. White Pony is like their 5th best album and even still all these years later that album sticks in my head as the eminent Deftones album, even though other albums deserve much more praise
