^ [2]. As I've said before, a lot of the weaker tracks thrive in the context of the album, though I do believe they can still hold their own as stand alone pieces

I Felt Your Shape is definitely up there. Even still I feel like there are only 8 or so really strong individual songs out of 20 tracks - which is fine, as I said it works very well as a whole piece, it's just that I personally like to have songs to grip onto so it's more a matter of personal preference than an issue with the album itself.

Nah I get you, that kind of thinking was one of the things putting me off 5ing this initially

Have you guys 5'ed Mount Eerie yet? The difference in average makes no sense whatsoever.

really really struggled with Mount Eerie so far tbh. Only tried it twice but wasn't that impressed. Need to try a lot more I think, I think I was hoping for the Glow pt3 whereas its doing its own thing

im still digesting it tbh but its a 4.5 at the least

the theory goes that phil dies in the last 2 tracks of this album, and mt eerie is his journey thru death. taken in that context, the whole album is a really beautiful and unique experience

Yeah 2 listens is not enough, that's for sure. Very different from this, but amazing in its own way. His second masterpiece.

Yeah I know, definitely going to persevere with it when I get the time. I suppose this hit me immediately and then continued to grow with multiple listens which is what I hoped Mount Eerie would do, whereas it seems like a slow grower
