You've Seen the Butcher is fucking great. My list goes Diamond Eyes > Saturday Night Wrist > Deftones > Around the Fur > Adrenaline > White Pony. That's right, I may be the only one that likes White Pony the least, but I still like it a lot.

SnW = WP > Deftones > ATF = DE > Adrenaline
You've seen the butcher is the best song on here imo

I don't know, man. I went back to listen to it recently, and it didn't grab as much as the other records when going through their discography. It was a transitional record, the production is pretty good, and they just didn't hit me as hard. And I am man who has been listening to them since 1995. So, before everyone loses their mind, I know what my ears hear.

yeah i've been a fan since about '97. it's funny though, because your feelings on WP weren't that uncommon when it came out, I knew a lot of hardcore fans that thought Deftones "went soft" or "sold out" -- not implying that's what you're saying i just mean that it wasn't NEARLY as universally praised when it came out as it is now.

White Pony>Diamond Eyes>Around the Fur>SNW>Deftones>Adrenaline
It's weird for me, though, considering I'm always changing the top 5 for me. Adrenaline is great, but it's always at the back, while all the others continue to switch spots. I guess that's the sign of a great band.

Adrenaline was a diamond in the rough that was nu metal. However, nu metal wasn't and still isn't even close to my being enjoyable to me, even though adrenaline is still quite an enjoyable album

no. WP was my first Inveigh.
in order of me hearing....
WP - Deftones - ATF - SnW - Diamond Eyes and Adrenaline I got hold of at the same time
And SnW is still my favorite, WP ties it now.

I like how both Deftones and Poison the Well released seminal, genre-defining (and almost genre-creating) albums for their debuts (genres which are heavily criticized btw) and then almost instantly abandoned the style (AtF and TftR are both transitional albums to me).
Adrenaline is like TOoD to me in that regard. Both were pretty simplistic, primative and innovative (and both spawned legions of imitators) compared to the bands' later albums but they're classics in their own right to me.

btw, on second thought, Risk is my favorite on this one.

I feel the most emotion from them on SnW and it connects with me emotionally more than the others.

I just realized my comment made it seem like their later albums weren't innovative, which wasn't my intent. but other than that I stand by the assertion.

lol. right.
In all honesty, the songs Beware, Xerces, Cherry Waves, Rapture, Combat, Kimdracula, and Riviere just click perfectly on an emotional level.

Cherry Waves and Rapture are great, and SNW is great. However, I feel like the emotion is so much more powerful in White Pony and Diamond Eyes, especially with the title track, Beauty School, and You've Seen the Butcher
