EOES is an album where, well into their career, Neurosis decided to experiment with their sound and production techniques. They allowed "lighter" influences into their music for the first time and the result was an amazing album with great dynamics and an accessible sound.
I see YFM as representing a similar point in Converge's career.

yeah that's what i thought. EOES stands out way more within the neurosis discog than this does in the converge discog though. this has a slightly different atmosphere and approach than their other stuff, but it's still converge through and through, whereas EOES was a pretty radical change for them. agreed tho.

I used to fucking hate Converge; I got past that slightly via bits of No Heroes (I know, I know...it just felt better than usual), and then I decided to check this out properly and...good stuff.
