I will say there are different degrees of hair metal though. Motley Crue, Cinderella, Dokken, Tesla, and Def Leppard weren't on the same page as bands like Kix, Poison, Warrant, Winger, Faster Pussycat, etc...
I still enjoy the first group of bands I mentioned to this day.
