I’d say his writing started slipping (which I know whatever in a ton of instances it had slipped already) late 10s, and this strikes me as the worst example yet. He depends way too much on constructions like “So give it up to the 19-year-old pop star whose bona fides you’d better believe are retained through even the vacillations of a teenage mind that knows it’s smarter than Trump’s whether the wildly talented artiste at its center cares to appear to her many haters as the timid rebel they didn’t know we all needed.”
