Saw them tonight in GR and the vocalist had a tough time literally doing anything on the records. Kind of a shame, the rest of the band brought it and the bass player was a monster the whole set

Bummer to hear Zack but not surprised at all. This has been an on-going issue for years now. Poor guy.

I was pumped when they opened with Bloodmeat and the he came in and sounded like an angry ferret and was massively winded at the end of the song when he talked to the audience for 4 minutes about the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey game which he paid attention to on his watch the whole 30 minute set and updated us on scores. The rest of the band seemed to tolerate him at best. It was a shame because I didn't realize that was the persona

I mean being winded and having your voice cooked after years of doing this is one thing, but this is pretty lame. When I saw them for their Fortress X concert, he still sounded great and the band seemed to really enjoy being up there with him. I dont recall long monologues or anything and he was wearing a weird costume... I think the band might have been as well.

tbh I've probably said this before, but I feel like Rody went far too hard on this album to try and really kill off all doubt after the vocal surgery. It would be entirely understandable, dude wanted to deliver after his body failed him, but so many notes here would be absolutely brutal to perform in a set, let alone take on tour.
Sustaining himself for full album/tour cycles would involve scaling back I think, but I don't know if that's in the cards. Might be too late at this point.

Saw them when they opened for August Burns Red several years ago and they sounded extremely tight. Vocals were on point but that might have been like 8 years ago now

Cleveland show was great. Certainly not where he was in 2008, but brought the energy (and let the crowd help fill in gaps). His political ravings were also hilarious.
