So, I'm just getting into these guys and there's a 2020 release called "The Fox and The Hunt". Is that a new Dear Hunter release or something else?

It's orchestral parts from Act IV and Act V. Nothing too crazy, but it might be nice, if you're into that kind of stuff

Prog rock fans of this style need to hear Phideaux's Doomday Afternoon (free bandcamp, as with the rest of Phideaux's work).

Fox and the hunt is excessive, just listen to act 4 and 5 and you’re good

Acts I - IV, or you could listen to all of the colorspectrum, although All should be EP would act as a nice little appetizer I would assume

So start from the beginning basically?

All TDH catalogue is really good, so technically there isnt a "bad" place to start, but I would say start at Act I - V and then explore the rest after

Yes. Bring a little benefit of the doubt bc the debut is half-baked and Act II has atrocious production

Act I didn't really get me in the beginning tbh. Act III to V are better as entry points

Edit: What Johnny says

I started with Act 1 and 2, then did all the color EPs, then did the rest of the LPs lol

I thought act 1 was vastly inferior to everything else they've done. I know it sounds sacrilegious, but i would skip act 1

Nah, if you're gonna do the others you need the origin story. Got enough highlights to be worth a check, plus it doesn't exactly overstay its welcome.

should start with act I to see the progression of the band improving... it's easy to say "skip Act I" when you've already heard all their stuff, a new listener should witness their progression as a band

I listened to Act I first and it wouldn't hook me tbh
