it's not that the others aren't art, it's that those that fall under those two genres make a point to be artsy and weird or "socially/etc. conscious".

Is "in which" your catchphrase or something? You throw it here and there, misusing it, and it just annoys me to no end for some reason. Otherwise, solid review. Covered a lot.

"These are the tags on rateyourmusic, sputnik needs more tags for hip hop, too many sub-genres to all lump into one category"

All this tagging is so dumb.

well yeah, whoever tagged this as jazz is also dumb. Yeah it's got some jazz influence but this is by no means an jazz album, just because Tearrace Martin and Thundercat are on it.

The problem is not that this is tagged as jazz, but because it's in the jazz charts. There must be only jazz albums there and this must be only in the hip hop charts. Jazz influence don't make this a jazz album. Atleast this is how i see it. Sputnik charts are kind of a mess. It's not needed to have 25092 sub-genres like rym, but seriously.. there is a screamo album in the jazz section.

Dude, ADR. If there was a jazz rap tag, it would eliminate this problem. That's all we were saying. But I personally don't give a shit if this is above Miles Davis on the jazz charts.

Jazz + Hip Hop = Jazz Hip Hop

Hip hop that has a lot of Jazz influences like A Tribe Called quest or Digable Planets or Madlib.
