i can see you why you think that; songs like Rebuilding, Rest, Wildflowers hit me like a truck pretty much immediately

His screams are the worst part of this album for me. When it's out of pure emotion like on Your Deep Rest they're great but when they go for a whole heavy screaming section it just doesn't land for me, which is why ATW kinda grew off me with that second half

yeah tbh it's weird because I think he sounds amazing on LiD and then i also think he sounds kinda weak on the 2nd half of Among The Wildflowers

my favorite off this will probably always be Introduction. Idk why but the lyrics "in physical pictures you remain, spiral round yourself in figure eight, I recoil at every new beginning" hits me harder than words could say every single time

Introduction is like lyrically the best song I've heard in several years

'so fragile are bodies, so concave, work in self-destructive ways'

Hospice I would definitely agree with

tbh I think Trouble Will Find Me is sadder than High Violet. Carrie and Lowell is definitely up there for me as well

Trouble Will Find Me has this kind of silly optimism to me, even in the face of everything it still has this sense of wonder to it

High Violet is just totally beaten down and given up, it destroys me

High Violet is beaten down yeah but there are some lyrics on TWFM where i'm like downright concerned about Matt
