Only took 11 years. When this dropped in 2013 I must just have not been in the mood lol

I came around on this just in time for the 10 year anniversary tour lol

Pumped that Greyhaven is supporting. Well deserved.

On one hand I really want these lads to come over to the UK.

On the other hand Rody's voice is done, so I'm conflicted.

If he's still lost it now, he's done permanently I think. He had to relearn how to sing from scratch due to the 2018 Fortress tour, he physically can not sound like he used to anymore.

Probably. Wouldn't mind them just becoming a studio band so he could just put his singing effort into recorded spurts (the last album he sounded great), but I know the money is in touring/merch sales (primarily made through touring), so I don't think that is really in the cards

I owe them a shot at least, so I will go if they come here.

Band has not aged well at all, it's hard to get through any of their albums that's not Kezia. My God.

"Volition" is Protest the Hero's fourth studio album. It is the band's first record not released through the label Underground Operations; instead, the group gathered funds for its recording through an Indiegogo campaign. It is also the band's first album to feature Chris Adler on drums after founding member and former drummer Moe Carlson's departure.

"Volition" has eleven songs on it. The first one is titled "Clarity" and is 5 minutes and 32 seconds long. The second one is titled "Drumhead Trial" and is 4 minutes and 28 seconds long. The rest of the songs on the album have different titles and lengths than those aforementioned.

If my mom wasn't dead I would have chuckled at this comment. But yeah, I don't know, a lot of music isn't clicking with me lately. Gets a tad frustrating.

Personally this doesn’t stand up to repeated listens as once the ‘shock n awe’ of their playing style has worn off little niggles raise their head, not to totally ruin the experience but enough to downgrade Volition form outstanding to just rather good.

Or to paraphrase Sven Goran Eriksson “First half superb, second half not so much"
