Naw, High Violet is their best. Alligator, Boxer and this are pretty damn close though. Such a consistently amazing band.

This hasn't got there for me...yet! I digest music very slowly though so that may still happen.

This continues to grow and get better and better. I never thought I'd say it but this is possibly their best.

Maybe I will appreciate this album more when I am 10 years older and even more boring than I am now. Right now though, listening to this makes me feel like I'm buying vanilla ice cream in beige slacks.

I'll always prefer screaming, outwardly unhinged Alligator era National to any of their other albums. Boxer and High Violet were very satisfying too, because although the outward emotion was dulled down, the pain and passion were still there. I don't feel either nearly enough this time through.
