it's actually astonishing how good this is compared to toby driver's other body of work

he's released other great things but nothing that holds a candle to this. not even close.

Dowsing is only a pinch down from this (but hardly anyone on this site will ever acknowledge it bc it panders to Talk Talk rather than metal)

I couldn't say; back in the day when I getting into these guys, Dowsing and Blue Lambency always had such shit quality uploads everywhere I looked, so I always skipped them. Might consider doing a discog run for these guys

Managed to have some words with Toby after the show yesterday. Told him how much this album meant to me. He is as chill and humble as I imagined. He showed gratitude and pointed me towards Sam, the drummer, so I could tell him as well. I knew he played for maudlin but he played in this too and I didn't know! Love Toby so much. I may rest in peace now.

it's interesting that toby is humble considering he has some of the most pretentious song titles of all time and he's also responsible for creating some of the greatest songs of the last 35 years

@noctus yeah this is far and away their best work, should be studied in music theory. nobody else has made anything like this since either

Yeah, this album is just something else, although I would argue Hubardo deserves a similar status. There is absolutely nothing that sounds like Hubardo either, but this one has the edge cause it's the best album of all time tbh...

PS: Jeez man why is this album so beautiful? One of the best, most genuine human artistic expressions ever. On par with paintings such as "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog" or movies like "The Tree of Life"

New single just dropped. Original Choirs of the Eye lineup to celebrate 20 years of this masterpiece. Hauntology and AI-music-takeover themes. One of the track on the album will be 23 minutes long. CANNOT. FUCKING. WAIT.
