None of us are their target audience on that vinyl (unless there's a really rich bastard or two among us on here). Apparantly, it was only to be available to the VIP ticket holders who already paid a mountain for whatever the hell the experience is for them. The leftover's from each VIP session would then be available at the merch booths for us commoners.

Yeah but I did not mean their fans Baseline, I think people that felt relatively indifferent to them up till now (me) might think a little lower (a lot lower) of them because of stuff like this.

Ah, I see your point Trifolium. For me, as a Christian, it's more disturbing that Tool practices Satanic rituals than whatever retarded pricing practices they concoct. Still, I will never boycott an artist or let my emotions stand in the way of enjoying what I believe is quality music.

Rightfully so! To each their own, and, to speak with Björk,
all is full of love

Bjork ref in a Tool thread, wholesome experience. I needed that.
'I thought everybody knew that the "high quality audiophile vinyl sound" is merely a method used by capitalists to milk money from suckers'
to play Devil's advocate a little here if I may (sorry), don't people like vinyl for all the artwork etc. as well... I mean they look pretty cool, right? Maybe some people openly accept there isn't much, if any difference?
but yeah anyone paying that is a big silly head... not my money though

Very fair point about the added artwork experience vinyl offers Demon. But also very fair point about the ridiculous price tag EEEK.

Thank you Gonzo. It's not a very philanthropic band.

Not necessarily a surprise to me, but I didn't follow them too closely. Guess that was it this time...

The show last night was fun because they're all so good at their instruments, and I kept seeing people I knew there like every time I got a beer or went to the bathroom lol but FIVE FUCKING SONGS FROM FEAR INNOCULUM, ARE YOU KIDDING ME TOOL?
Those sons of bitches.

Surely you had checked the setlist first to avoid such consternation

Sometimes I check the setlist, but other times I like to be surprised. I was hoping to get more of that "oh yay" energy, but it only happened for a few songs.

i mean, the band released an album after 13 years, only to release it on CD that cost a fair chunk of coin, during an age where vinyl is at its peak in popularity.
i've been a fan of tool since 2005 and i can tell you, the band are naturally inclined to deny their fans of what they want. it's like an abusive relationship. if their music wasn't so fucking top notch they probably wouldn't get away with it like they do.

I mean yeah I agree with that, but their setlists have been more varied every time I have seen them before (excluding the tour that I saw specifically for Fear Innoculum a few years back, but that made sense that time)
