Dudes went ridiculously hard live with such a tragically short set. Five of the six times they’ve hit my city have all been supporting sets :/
They said they’d be back soon and I’m seriously holding them to that. Whole band is insane live… but I really wish they had someone doing the synths too. I understand touring with six people is already just not profitable at all at best but that would be so damn cool.
Also Amber played the sax solo from Schizophrenia Legacy on violin and fucking crushed it. Ugh kneecapping these guys to a half hour set is fucking criminal man
Only complaints I have are seriously just Setlist related. Two Headed Trout and Demon Dog are already two of my least favorite songs here but I get that they need to play the more accessible singles for a fucking Arm’s Length crowd… that said I think Pushing the Pink Envelope would’ve been a great pick. Standouts tonight were for sure Lemon and Mona Lisa, really wasn’t expecting Blackberry DeLorean either so that was cool. And I guess they’re just gonna close with Star Baby forever. The one time I saw them headline they played Title Track and I’m so afraid they’re never gonna bust it out again. I like this album most as a whole but that’s still my absolute favorite Daoboys song. It’s kinda crazy that they can pull off the whole mathcore thing but are also that good at a more straightforward alt metal banger. Mona Lisa would’ve been a radio hit 25 years ago… shit, Lemon could be a hit now.

Lemon is a hit, it made it to the NFL
plus they got new material, it’s just a matter of time
also idk how you don’t like those songs as much, lyrically they’re fun and to singalong to them live is great

They’re great! Theres just like 7 songs here that I think are better haha
Idk what it is, Lemon and Mona Lisa just are so much better despite all kinda being in the same boat as far as “normie” listeners go.
And I completely forgot about that with Lemon, that was so fucking tight

we’re too old to be differentiating what’s normal and what’s not, especially in the age of genre cross-pollination
normie, coworker music, etc
weird ass terms

I mean there’s an ocean of difference between something like Lemon and Country Song in Reverse fam

if we’re going by extremes sure but that wasn’t my point
people are more open for stuff like the latter and is why we got gigantic parasite tongue

@wildcard did you stay for arm's length?
was at the baltimore show this tour and left after daoboys but people were going so wild for the daoboys i kinda felt bad for arms length having to follow them up

Good to hear the crowds have been into the Daoboys with the rest of the bands being emo/pop punk. I'm going Friday and was worried about that.
I think I've only see them play Title Track once in the 5 or 6 times I've seen them. Surprised it didn't make the setlist for this tour since they are going lighter for this crowd (and I really want to know how the setlist will compare on the Acacia Strain tour next month)

it was honestly hard for me to tell if all those people were actually there mainly for the daoboys, or if the arms length fans just knew how to throw down when given the chance.
4th time seeing them (first since this album dropped) and it was by far the rowdiest crowd. when they kicked into two headed trout it felt like the entire place was jumping. 1000 cap venue and felt like a near-sellout.

There was definitely a crowd there just for our Daoboys, I had 3 friends dip immediately after their set ended, and it didn’t really look like they were the only ones.
Carson pointed out one guy on the rail that was straight up not having a good time and was like “you’re gonna fuckin hate this one” right before they broke into Blackberry DeLorean lmao

Heaven Across North America II tour announced. They do not stop.
(oh yeah, the show with Arm's Length was incredible. All bands were awesome and crowd was crazy for all of em)

I've watched many live videos and tbh anything bigger than a tiny club feels like it wouldn't hit. It kinda reminds me of years ago watching Protest the Hero live vids and thinking they sounded sloppy and lacking compared to the studio albums. Like the sound is too complex to replicate well live.
Anyway, I'd go see them still, but they aren't even coming to Texas :/

They come to my city but every time it's the only band I'm interested in so I don't go. This time is no different sadly

Didn't even think about that. During their Fake History days, letlive came to town constantly. I saw them 4 or 5 times in like an 18 month span. But they always toured with shit I did not want to be associated with, so I had the luxury of leaving after them. I can't even remember who most of the headliners were, I think once it was Times of Grace, so I stayed for that one.
Static Dress is coming to town this year, but all the other acts on the bill make me say 'no thanks'

There was 1 time I knew I didn't like the bands and left right away and 2 times I hung out for a bit but wasn't vibing so left halfway through a set. Also learned of a lot of really cool bands by going though. And the Daoboys are always worth it by themselves

Yeah but with the price of tickets these days, it stings a bit to only go for one band. At least for me. I just checked the 2 opening band since I didn't know them and they didn't wow me. Kaonashi I knew but the dud sound like Mickey Mouse and I can't stand it

I’m sorry dude but Kaonashi fuckin sucks, I really don’t know how anyone listens to that
