i think you may be looking for the word "inconsistent". you cant look at songs like Lyrics Lie, Three Wishes and Strawberry's Wake and tell me those aren't some of the most "accessible" songs for a general audience DGD has ever released. even the songs you named aren't nearly as experimental/unique as >80% of their discography.

"it's not as accessible because a lot of the substance is either hit or miss and a lot of people are missing out on them"
I don't think you know what accessibility means
why not take a break from posting, King

sure but I'd argue that biggest songs here are either hit or misses. and that is why this album was received much more poorly than ArSe and MS. my point still stands tbh.

The only DGD song that I can think of that may be more accessible is Care

yeah I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that it kinda sucks while the band keeps taking leaps into becoming a parody of themselves. your point still stands, king

Some of my issues with this stem from how sparkly clean it sounds and how much they massacred Til's voice (overproduced).
Both marks of shooting for accessibility. This album is practically cotton candy.
If you want to argue it's more "experimental" songwriting wise, okay w/e, but they're inarguably going for a """""cleaner""""" overall sound here

it was received more poorly because it is their most inconsistent and derivative album, not because it isnt accessible. there is no universe where I, like many other DGD fans, would ever listen to this over all of their other albums.

Literally what is your point then, all you're saying is that this album has a lot of hits and misses and using that as a ways to say it's not as accessible, which is the furthest thing from the truth since this is their most accessible album

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but wouldn't it have to be pretty accessible for even the misses to be part of the "biggest songs"? Assuming you mean most popular by biggest. And wouldn't the misses being big completely negate your argument about how its inaccessible due to the ratio of hits/misses?

Well he did say that three songs on this album belong in the top 10 DGD tracks of all time, which is just an objectively wrong take.

Okay so you just dont understand what accessibility means in terms of music. Or at least we have a very different way of viewing it.
Thats okay. Keep liking what you like, my dude
"like, if there were 2 more tracks on it that were as good as Say Hi, would you still rate it a 2.5?"
Depends 100% on which songs would be cut for premium content. But it's hard to imagine tbh because the general sound of this album is just not good to my ears. I'll say this, if they tacked on two more songs just as good as Say Hi, but left everything else the same, yeah it'd still be a 2.5

"people's tastes in it are subjective. the music being an objective structure is why fan favorites exist"

I really have no idea what you are trying to say, tbh. I think that you don't really understand the meaning of general accessibility of music which is why I think you are missing the point or making poor arguments.
And to answer your question, without replacing any songs and adding two songs "as good as" Say Hi, I probably wouldn't change my score. While Say Hi is a good song, compared to the band's history, it severely pales in comparison. I rated Afterburner a 2.5 because, while there were some moments I enjoyed on here, as a full album and a complete work, there are inexcusable faults that drive me away. I would still press skip on over half the album. Calentamiento Global and Parallels are trash and I'm not interested in the direction they took on this.
