You'd imagine that labels would smarten up and realize that long waits are the exact opposite way to garner hype for anything, but nope instead they're doubling down and making the rollouts longer, announcing an album like 5 months in advance, and then dropping singles out of the blue that are forgotten about.

My uneducated guess is that rolling them out slowly with more singles gets those singles more individual streams and thus more over time. If they just drop the album, everyone who isnt an avid fan would probably listen 1-2 times and never again. Whereas with singles they may listen like 10-20 times collectively prior?
