I didn't like Pure Heroine but I do think that album was more interesting than this one. It's also like way more influential and (for better and for worse) its shadow still hangs over radio pop today.

Agreed on the above re. PH. This is ofc great but I think in another few years we'll finally be sick of the Antonoff sound + the endless commonalities between everything he's done and everything else he's done
PH was less consistent for sure, but the highs were higher and it had more character and a more interesting palette

NFR, this and Massedu all have /points of distinction/ but it's like they wear top much of the same perfume on top of seperate outfits
like, if you put NFR t/t, Slow Disco, Writer in the Dark and then for fun Loveless and whatever Taylor Swift track on the same mixtape, they would bleed into each other like spilt coffee and people would call you out on making sloppy mixtapes

i agree on antonoff fatigue and i worry that this album will age poorly as a result. bc when this came out i thought it was 10x more sonically interesting than PH but because of the antonoff wave that may no longer be the case
