Landslide Defeater was my favorite single and after first listen it might be my favorite song on the whole thing, but I’m really digging Trace Levels of Dystopia and Anna.
Not much better than Polar Similar (if at all), but still a pretty kick ass record. I’ll be jamming it all day

Fuck man. On my first spin now and I have loved every song. Granted I had heard the singles. But the new songs are fantastic too.

Trace Levels of Dystopia, /With Errors, Translational, & Landslide Defeater are the best tracks from the new one.

Can confirm. All of the songs slap. I need more listens, but this is easily a 4. Could potentially be a 4.5 or even a 5.

Album rules, but I guess I'm the only one here who doesn't like it as much as the previous two. Will listen more.

I think a lot of people are going to have split opinions on the last four or five songs. First eight tracks fucking slay and barely give you time to breathe, but then the last four songs or so have way less screaming, are way more melodic, and also get legitimately WEIRD at points (sounds insane but this album made me think of Kid A multiple times). I absolutely love it.
If the whole album were just bangers it would still rule, but you really feel the storytelling (even without knowing the explicite story itself) in the music.
Also the ending of Anna kicks dicks like nothing else.

I actually really like almost every song on here except Mind over Mind, which just sounds very basic and repetitive to me. The last 4 songs are greatness tho.

Agree Jeet. I really like Mind over Mind though. It's not super complex, but it's heavy and fun. I've said it before, but I could probably just listen to Corey scream "YEAH!" over some NJ riffs and I'd still be happy haha.
Julian you right dude. I love those melodic songs towards the end. Like If Loss, then Careen and Anna. They're all good.

man, just finished my first listen, and that slapped. And I agree with you guys, those closing four tracks are absolutely amazing and they’re actually what make the album for me, perfect progression if you ask me.. and the closing of Anna made me wanna punch my computer screen it was so brutal

Agreed though that Mind Over Mind is probably the weakest song here. It's by no means bad but it's not nearly as adventurous or interesting as literally everything else. Serves as a nice, straightforward head-banger, tho.

As much as I'm diggin it, I think I still prefer Polar Similar a bit more. But just a bit

Yea PS just has that perfect balance of catchiness and heaviness. New album is less catchy but feels heavier and sludgy as fuck.

New album's just weirder. Lots of fucked up guitar parts, odd vocal melodies, crazy tempo changes, etc...
God I love it.
