^^I never know how to respond to that hahaha. Seriously though, thank you that means a ton. But, if I'm being honest, I think we have now backed ourselves into a corner. People are going to be expecting even more next level shit from us going forward, and that's tough to deal with. We certainly don't want to let anyone down given what we've already done. It's such a fine line to straddle, and somehow we've managed to pull it off for this long hah. I am super grateful and thankful that people feel this way though.

There is only one solution...
Do a Warhammer 40K concept album! :D

The bass playing is what impresses me the most with this album and band.
It's so tasteful, and it's always heavy in the mix.

Yea the bass is amazing, so many metal bands don't have it high enough.
I'd love to hear an expansion on the softer sections of this, like Mountains Above The Sun and Collapse. Don't know if that would realistically be a main release tho.
I'd say don't worry about expectations for a follow-up. This was a fantastic accomplishment, and you should enjoy the success for now. Inspiration for more will come in time I'm sure.

Yeah, what everyone else said haha. At the end of the dad you are the artist and your work must be an expression of yourself, whatever that brings.
But yeah, that second solo on Pteropticon is IN. SANE.
That second of silence right before it and the way it comes in UGH! Chills every time.

And yes, the bass is also extremely awesome.
Just a few of the many reasons I 5'd this :]

I'm enjoying the hell out of this right now. The opener to this album grabbed my attention and 4 songs in it's still awesome so far.

I'm starting to like this thread almost as much as the album!

Encouraging words, thanks all! I think we'll just shift our sound to a more 1996 Reload style and see where it takes us. Either that or Nickelback meets Avenged Sevenfold, that should do the trick eh? Maybe incorporate some Jpop a la Babymetal style.

Can't go wrong with throwing in some pre-Cowboys From Hell Pantera influences and Risk-era Megadeth in there as well :D

Great suggestions, keep them coming. This new album will be so unique that people will just HAVE to like it. There will be a song for every fan base ever.

You should do a beach boys cover album in the vein of a funeral doom metal band with just a hint of darkwave
