This is her best, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Homogenic = Vespertine > everything else

There, case closed.

Interesting, never got any Bark Psychosis out of this except maybe All Neon Like and the closer
This is obvs one of the few albums that really matters, but it can't compete with Vespertine

Best so far, definitely, though I think Post had a few more individual standout tracks. This is more cohesive and immersive. A 5 isn't too far away.

They came to mind when I was on Immature, Johnny. Maybe not soundwise, particularly, but definitely aesthetically.

Ah yeah I kinda feel that
Am listening to the Oomori Seiko song where she puts on this really acerbic fantasy about being a jaded middle-aged woman and belts out this line about cooking scrambled eggs and midnight and listening to Björk's music with this (maybe) self-loathing undertone of "wow would this make me quirky again" and it fking bangs and I want y'all to know this

i mean Vespertine > this by a nose, imo, but i haven't always felt that way. this used to be my favorite and i could see it swaying back that way in the distant future. either way, you can't go wrong with either of the two.

Homogenic is poorly named because it’s anything but homogenous (not the other reason), Vespertine is in fact an arguably better fit for that particular descriptor.

Vespertine is marginally more consistent, especially in tone and atmosphere, whereas this was more immediately impactful and varied.

Both are absolutely essential, although these days Vesp wins ‘by a nose‘ (2).

7/10 is still great. I dunno, Five Years has always been toward the bottom of this (admittedly fantastic) album for me. If anything, I'd bump either All Neon Like or Immature up another point.

And I do like Alarm Call in a vacuum; the 6/10 for that is almost more representative of its somewhat ill-fitted placement on Homogenic. It belongs on 'Post' imo.

Bachelorette is the only song from here that I've never been crazy about, but it's still admittedly quite epic

I always thought the second half of this was ever so slightly weaker than the first. But 5 years has the best vocal performance (2) and one of the most satisfyingly infectious beats I've ever heard
