the Crystal Skull EP is what got me into Mastodon, so BM won't be leaving my heavy rotation any time soon (it hasn't in nine years, after all). But yeah, CtS/Leviathan is top tier, Remission and BM are next, then the most recent two are another step down.

its not that i dont like this album, but its too straightforward without much weird and/or proggy shit like they usually have. the Hunter still had plenty of those moments, but this album feels like theyre going through the motions.
