yeah it’s damn near impossible.

It probably sounds stupid but this record is almost two completely different albums. The first half is super political and the second focuses pretty much just on Nikki’s own personal battles.

Goddamnit I love this album.

Realizing he’s been used by the cause that he thought was just. Even though I think the front half of the record has good politics, slowly turning it around and making the protagonist a monster and a killer is brilliant. The first half of the record, I’d say Anarchy X through The Mission is mostly impersonal and more describing a political revolution, with the back half of the record being about Nikki.

jamming it at work today m/

No, I meant Operation Mindcrime Pt. II, the album that came in 2005! What's your opinion on that (literal) second part/album

oh, I’m sorry but fuck that album. I pretend it doesn’t exist

Like titan said there’s a few solid tracks but not only is it not nearly as good as this record but it’s such a blatant attempt at feeding off fans’ nostalgia for this album

Revisited today, and I'm with Titan... Sounds like from the middle on they got songs from the vault and their deteriorated talent tried to fill in the first half...

Agree about 2nd half of part 2.

And best chorus? fuck. In a vacuum I suppose it's either Spreading the Disease or Eyes of a Stranger. But considering the rest of the song setup and it's place in the tracklist, The Mission is particularly moving.
