Vai makes the fretless sing, he makes some pretty sweet stuff with it.

Check out his stuff on the G3 concert when he was with Petrucci and Satriani, I'm not even into the shred stuff but it's cool as hell.

as predictable as it may be, best Vai i've ever seen is For the Love of God with that orchestra.

^Decent setlist. Needs more Silent Circus.

When I saw them a couple years ago, they opened with Selkies. The whole crowd was expecting Foam Born: The Backtrack, so it was the greatest surprise intro ever.

Oh crap! I love all those songs, but I was hoping that they would play more of their "shorter" songs live (i.e. All Bodies, Mordecai, Selkies, Alaska, Primer, Foam Born:Part B, etc.).

To finish the set with three of their epic songs is insane and I don't know how my poor left knee will hold up. First time I'll be seeing them live on Sunday and I'm already disappointed

^I was thinking the exact same thing... but there's just something about this album as a whole that just doesn't feel like a 5

nah bloc, Desert of Song is a cool intermission between Fossil and Swim to the moon, not a great song but it does it's work. probably it is the fact that the idea of a 17+ minute song from BTBAM gets your expectations pretty high... but it's not THAT good; and yeah, hitman, the ending could have been much better
