when I said winter, some of it reminds me of blizzards, usually watching them from inside but sometimes being in the middle of one, and the crunch of snow underfoot when everything else is dead silent. there's an atmosphere akin to both worlds, I think.

For now, I agree with Chewie in that it's definitely a summer album. It felt like it was summer when I first listened to it.

But the ''Dancing around to stay warm'' comment was also very well thought out. So iarescientists may have a point.

I'll get back to you on that one.

Right now my favorite tune is ''My Girls'' but it's probably going to be the first song that is going to bug me... Like with almost all songs I like but tend to overplay... The way My Girls is gradually building into an increasingly better sounding song is fantastic. It's not until the very end that you can actually start jumping in your underwear but when it gets there it gets there in style.

If this is their supposed summer album, I guess Fall Be Kind is autumn?

I am a little confused as to where this summer/winter argument is supposed to lead. We all realize that these applied seasons are our own personal manifestations and in no way really meant to represent the band's intentions (even though they've stated theirs)? I mean yah summer album is obvious but production can be viewed as frigid or lucid depending on mood/place/activity.

sure, so why not discuss our subjective opinions of which season it reminds us of? It's like any other discussion on this site.

Pitchfork: Fall Be Kind is an EP, right?

Dave Portner: ...Everything seems to be very seasonal or weather-oriented for us this year. I

wanted to keep it a little bit in line with that. It felt like Merriweather Post Pavilion was really springy

or summery. We always try and push for our releases to come out at a specific time. It didn't really

happen with Merriweather, unfortunately, but that's because we just really wanted to get that

one out quickly. But with this one, we were hoping it would come out in the fall, so Fall Be Kind.

I perceive it as a summer album, but have no problem if others do not.

I find it interesting as to why they don't feel this as a summer album though.
