no, the main point of thrash is not lyrical content, but Hetfield, especially on MOP and AJFA, is quite the brilliant lyricist.

Hetfield isn't a brilliant lyricist on any record, man. It's just very basic messages put into even more basic rhyme structures. There is little to no artistic merit. The quality in MoP is what they do with the genre compared to other stuff, and none of that is to do with the words.
