Man this shit is evil. I'd say this is darker than TSIB... just sounds mean spirited in a way but cathartic at the same time. For me the Billy Anderson produced albums are peak Neurosis, even though I absolutely love most of the Steve Albini albums.

Indeed. "Lost", the title track, "Raze the Stray" and "Cold Ascending" are my favs here. "Cleanse" would be another but it drags after the 9 min mark or so (in the 15 min version).

having checked through everything up to STNS, this is firmly my second favorite behind TSIB
the murky, sample-laden, and vicious sound of those two is just incredible
