Is CV better live? Because i still think thats the worst "serious" song they've ever done. I actually laughed the first time i heard it, especially the ending. It sounded like a highschool band. Which is annoying bacause i actually really like the first half

@keaton
I thought CV was great live, particularly because they played it spot on with no mistakes, the guitar tone was laser sharp, and it fit well where they played it in the set (after the drum solo)
Also, I was surprised that there weren't many younger fans there. Average age was probably 40, lots of bald ass heads...

Brand New would probably win
Their top threads also had several hundred pages deleted by the mods

"Also, I was surprised that there weren't many younger fans there. Average age was probably 40, lots of bald ass heads..."
Well that wouldn't surprise me at all. Most Trve Tool fans must be around that age now... Most kids these days listen to shitty music anyway (I must be getting old)

That Brand New thing is so weird to me. I've never heard about them before Sput, do not know anyone in real life that knows them. Yet over here it's one of the most popular bands ever. Strange how that works.
|
| |
interesting
they were very popular in my friend groups growing up, which was basically anyone who was into pop punk and emo beyond just mcr/fob/panic and such, but i think if you weren't involved in that scene you could easily have missed them. their fanbase was always insanely dedicated though.

i've actually met people irl who know and appreciate brand new, matrix that shit plz
ed. sint is pop punk matrix
|
| |
Yeah very strange indeed. I knew many emo kids too back in the day. Hmmmmmmmm. Curiouser and curiouser.

Tool hater confession #24: I pretended to non-ironically enjoy this band for so long (as a inner joke to my psyche) that I've started to believe my own lie. Thankfully I can listen to some quality, mature music like Oceansize, Sonic Youth, Los Campesinos!, anytime in order to regain my intellectual capabilities and absolve all this shame.

early brand new is garbage the band got better as Jesse Lacey became more predatory and messed up.
|
| |
like it or not all that turmoil he had like in his mind, knowing he was doing some fucked up shit, couldn't forget what he did, resulted in some angsty, powerful and honest music.
|
| |
yeah maybe take another look at the timeline of when his alleged offences actually went down
