And yeah Sam Rivers is a genuinely good bassist, Wes Borland is one of the most inventive and unorthodox guitarists of modern times and is easily one of the best of the turn of the century, and John Otto is a pretty decent drummer. Don't really care much about DJ Lethal, he's not in the band anymore. But one good bassist and a decent drummer does not a good band make and when Wes was out of the picture and they brought in a shitty guitarist in Mike Smith you saw how exposed they were.

That remix is offensive, chester benington should scream to that korean twat until the ears of psy and the person who made that lame mash up begin to bleed without any sort of control. Agree with metulz except for the part of wes borland, sure, he's decent but saying that he is one of the best is comical, guitar players of that era like buckethead, petrucci, jeff loomis, michael romeo, steven wilson, timo tolkki, luca trulli, and more who destroys the guitar player of limp bizkit; even some guitar players of the nu metal era are far, far better than wes : Daron Malakian, Clint Lowery, tom maxwell, Stephen Carpenter, Greg Tribbett are more creative and skilled.

Clint Lowery AND John Connolly, the tag team guitar work is one thing that to me made them a strong force. Also, Wes isn't one of the best, but he definitely was a unique guitarist that had a lot of talent squandered on LB. Also, Daron Malakian's guitar work is good and definitely fits SOAD, but can't even touch Wes Borland's
|
| |
Is more solid, creative and powerful the Malakian's guitar work. Not saying that wes is bad, but he is
overrated inside the modern rock circles and nu metal fans

Nah, Wes Borland's fantastic... he's just in a godawful band
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.5
In fairness Wes has been in a lot of bands. From the nu metal of LB and Tech N9ne (well, his recent EP was nu-metal) to the industrial rock of Black Light Burns to post-hardcore with From First to Last and grindcore with The Colour of Violence, and some aggrotech with Combichrist as well as some touring stints with various other styles of music.
|
| |
Good, yes, but fantastic my ass............and LB is awful.
|
| |
And from first to last is awful ( travis richter is the only semi decent member of that band and
that's because he worked with the human abstract, is a shame that he is now making dubstep just
because he hates that pussy of skrillex), besides wes criticized dream theater once. Dude, that's a
lack of respect coming from a miserable twat who was in a group that most of the time created shit,
but at the same time is funny, because falling into infinity is far better than anything crafted by
wes. And Hybrid theory ep, hybrid theory lp, and meteora rape hard the entire LB discography.

On a different note, Chester is a really strong singer, definitely leagues above many of the other nu metal vocalists

Yea Chester certainly has a great voice. LP gets lots of hate, but you can't deny the unique and powerful feel of his voice
|
| |
well...it's unique i'll give you that

Been jamming this loads last few days. Still great, but there is definately some filler in there.
|
| |
Album Rating: 2.5
There is filler, but credit should be given that these guys actually had a strong sense of melody in a genre that generally focused on complete aggro buffoonery a lot of the time
|
| |
Dude, not even by myself is filler. And chester is perhaps one of the top 3 singers of the nu metal
era. Great range and a lot of diversity, but the most important fact is how intense he sounded in the
early 00's. And respect to the hate, is not different too the hate that gets every nu metal band by
rock circles due to the fact that purists indetify nu metal always with limp bizkit and papa roach and
not with bands like notthingface or deftones ( the early era is defintely nu-metal ); also I can
understand that a lot of people dislike the drastic genre change first to rock-pop and them to
electrorock, of course they have made mistakes, but their latest efforst have some decent and
enjoyable material ( well, with the exception of recharged which is awful). Fuck me right
