I might be weird for preferring this over the new one, but I do. The distant vocals worked for me because they had a place to swell to. On the new one, everything is front-and-center in the mix, and it becomes grating after a while. That said, Environmental Catastrophe is probably better than anything here.

Hard disagree, the run from Environmental to Top Sellers is unbelievably solid, every single one of those songs stands among their best.

i really like Jordan being at the forefront for the majority of this.
just took a rainy drive home that ended on t/t and my god. if not Environmental or Country Song in Reverse, then it has to be my SOTY. the highs Jordan hits are a career peak

New album is significantly better than this one (and I liked this one). In fact, the new one could turn into my favorite from them in time.

@scoot thinking about this
the people getting hit by the light are all of the workers ie the people at the bottom and that's the work that's being fear mongered into phasing out so!!!
but i took this much more literally. the people at the bottom are the ones that are ascending heavenward while the greedy are left behind.
such a fucking cool song. i would've honestly made the first part a LITTLE longer but everything afterwards is 100% necessary.

it's also hitting me now that it feels like this album is taking cues from all 4 albums prior in some sense. you can really feel the effort that went into this

Can’t believe no review on the new album yet. I need to finish listening but from what I’ve heard, it’s great (making the lack of a review even more perplexing).

any reason why not?? please link regardless though!
god, on quality alone there is no way this isn't 5 range. even with my complaints (that are really only with the back half minus t/t cuz t/t is perfect), there's not only more than enough amazing songs but those amazing songs are all borderline perfect at lowest.
one more banger in the back half would've solidified it for me
