It certainly does. It is the only 4/5 on the entire record, and the other tracks are two ~4.5/5s and five 5/5s.

[2]. 1984 was a damn good year for metal, but this would be even better to me than the Warning, Ride the Lightning, The Last in Line, or even Don't Break the Oath.

It's not as good as Rising, but they are both pure classics.

Don't Break the Oath is the king of 1984, but this is close second

I would take Melissa over Don't Break the Oath, but both albums and the 80s Dickinson albums have monstrous vocal performances.

I'd take Melissa over the majority of the 80s albums not only for the vocals but for the guitar performance and mostly the atmosphere of the album.

I like Don't Break the Oath better personally, however both albums are masterpieces. I'd probably take Oath over any Maiden album, but that doesn't take away from Powerslave being one of the best metal albums in history.

Might prefer both first 2 MF albums to this. All 3 are amazing though

[2] Even though "Satan's Fall" is probably better than anything off of Abigail.

Any song off MF's first two LPs are better than anything off of Abigail.

I love Powerslave more than Oath or Melissa, but that's just because I'm a huge Maiden fanboy.

Yeah there's not much among these albums. Overall, I prefer Maiden but when I'm in the mood I think nothing beats Melissa for me. Nothing to do with quality though.
