This album is very good, but from a musical perspective it is quite bland and lacks variety. I prefer "Illinois" over it.

I think every song on this is perfect or nearly perfect in execution, but there isn't much sonic variety, which I think in the end will prevent it from being a full classic. I personally prefer this to Illinois though, since the individual songs here are more enjoyable and powerful.

This absolutely does lack variety. Most of the songs just feel kind of dull. Not to say that sparse instrumentation is dull, I mean I think 7 Swans does it perfectly fine, much better than on this, the songs here just don't have much substance to me. I prefer anything else from him besides A Sun Came and Enjoy your rabbit.
