Ok I loved this from first listen but it's starting to work some serious magic right about now.

6 listens in and I'm already thinking that 9/15 tracks here are potential 5/5 songs given enough time... Hard to imagine them topping this but who am I to say.

Boney - if this album is 'Good morning spider' then 'Moon' is 'It's a Wonderful Life' - think you'll prefer the latter to the former for similar reasons as the Sparklehorse equivalents

Gotta agree with the doof, as much as I love this nothing can beat the atmosphere on Moon, especially during the middle stretch of songs.

M&A is a good (but incorrect) pick for best Mouse.

This is better than M&A but both are 5s and probably still in my all-time top 10

This one was produced by Calvin Johnson, so it wins out.

Doof that's an interesting logic you present there, I can see what you might mean - scrappier, throw everything at the wall sort of album followed a by carefully measured and considered one (ironically though, just last night I was skimming some parts of Good Morning Spider after reading a 20th anniversary feature on it and wondering whether it might actually be better than It's a Wonderful Life). I'm gonna spend a good amount of time with this before trying M&A. I may also check Building Nothing Out of Something first since chronologically that came out between the two and I've been seeing some people say they consider that comp as a whole to be on par or near on par with the albums surrounding it.

It's close but: M&A > LCW > Good News > Long Drive >>>> The carnival one who's name escapes me.

I have to say in a certain sense I'm almost more interested to hear BNooS and the stuff after M&A than M&A itself - the way I've responded to this and Long Drive combined with everything I've read about M&A indicates it will be an easy love for me. The other stuff seems much more divisive and I'm curious to see where I'll fall on it all.

Good News mught be my most replayed album of theirs. Long Drive I need to be in the mood for which isn't all that often.

I still need to hear Strangers to Ourselves. Just haven't got around to it.

[2], with the exception of "The Ground Walks" possibly being one of their best songs
