Brent probably hates metal in the same way I do -- the ridiculous showmanship, fuck-you attitude of 5FDP and Avenged, etc etc. Not all metal is like that, but the popular notion of "heavy metal" carries some very negative vibes.

Oh yeah, mainstream metal is a pretty bad representation of the whole genre. To each his own, but I can't even imagine not enjoying metal at all.
