And not that I need to prove anything to you, but I listened to this and had my own opinion before I even looked at the album on this site.

ok well to address a specific comment here,
"this album was just one big bulk of sound, no layers."
i disagree with this, as I find Sky Machine to be very dynamic and textured. plenty of subtle parts to the song which come together and create an incredible balance between the sparsity (e.g. Float) and density (e.g. The Refusal) of other tracks on the album

There's a good chance that we'll be getting some new live songs soon. They mentioned in an interview that they'd play a few new songs on their Indian tour which begins tonight.
"Yeah, yeah that's what it is. Not the fact the levels are all over the place and everything sounds like it was knocked up to 11, ruining a lot of the songs because of it. No, it's because the review said so."
It actually sounds a lot softer and quieter compared to their other albums. There's definitely layers there. Like Sound Awake there's a lot of cool little sounds that you miss the first few times. I just wish the production was cleaner.

I wish they left out the tracks like Amusia, makes a full listen through of this a bit annoying. However, the other tracks just get better with every listen (apart from Eidolon, which peaked a bit early).

New song debuted live. Sounds like a mix of sound awake and asymmetry. Rocking yet melodic. Sounds like they're still playing around with dissonance too.

This is the best quality yet. Vocals are way clearer and the guitarwork is way more defined. This actually sounds a lot closer to Asymmetry than Sound Awake which might upset people.
