Yeah. Its been a while since I checked it, but its definitely missing the subtlety that this and MHARTC and Geo have.

Can’t believe this thing is getting on for 7yrs old. It’s an all time fave that hasn’t lost one jot of atmosphere.

My least fave Canada

Fuck, yeah, it's a joke compared to their others. This album is remarkably cold and sterile for BoC. Its flabbergasting how overrated it is. There was this unsettling sense of twisted innocence and hope to their last three, even at their darkest. It made them all feel warm and inviting, lulling you into a false sense of security. This one plays no tricks like that. It's all steel frames and concrete, cynical metropolitan nightmare. Soulless.

The thing that made BOC so special was how enchanting and mystical everything was. Cultish and mesmerizing. This has no magic whatsoever.

I don’t see that
there can be nostalgia around concrete. I’m a city man so having this around there while knowing where the other 3 records come from, I felt like this lost none of that same magic.

I am a city boy too bro you dont need to tell me twice
I dont have any qualms with the concept, just the execution. It sounds unforgiving and cruel. That's not how I like my boc

but isn’t that how we knew the world to be as kids
around our fun lurked the sinister, the cruel, and unfair
