Think you've already answered that through how well the Loveless sound holds up - that album is a classic case of an album being carried by its production and aesthetic choices. No shade on that tbh - it went all in on those aspects, which I respect + understand why people feel so strongly about - but this band in general are a case study of how to double down on production choices without using them as a crutch
